These scenes were produced at the University of Aizu, in a collaborative effort between the Center for Cultural Research and Studies, the Multimedia Lab, the Computer Industry Lab, and Applied CAD/Art.
The following people were involved with the project:
This project is part of her creation of a living electronic history book of the Aizu region.
Without the moral and technical support of Professor Goodwin, often in the wee hours of the morning, this project would not have been possible.
Professor Herder guided us onto and through the Web.
Mr. Yamagishi, a master miya daiku (shrine carpenter), graciously advised us on construction techniques.
Mr. Yamadera volunteered from the community of Aizu-Wakamatsu, providing translation and coordination with incredible patience and diligence.
Mr. Yanagiya was a third year student at the university when he composed the original electronic score for the VR walkthrough.
Carl Vilbrandt specializes in 3D CAD and 3D databases and provided the visual foundation for the project with 3D computer models, architectural and technical expertise.
Turlif Vilbrandt is a 3D Studio VR animator and multimedia programmer. He created the VR path for our history project.
Jody Vilbrandt did HTML (hard time and manual labor!) coordination and image preparation.
