Welcome to CS3750, an introduction to operating systems. Topics include:

Introduction to computer operating system design and implementation issues. Historical development of operating systems; management of processes, concurrent processes, storage, and I/O systems; distributed operating systems; protection and security; ethical issues relating to security and privacy; and case studies of operating systems.

Prerequisites: CS 3100 and CS 3740.

9/17/2019 SOSP Videos assignment: Watch at least four of the talks given on the SOSP History Day in 2015. Do not select the 'Overview of the Day' or 'Founding of SOSP' or 'Reminiscences on SOSP' videos. Any other four on that page (given after 9am and before 5pm).
For each of the videos you watch, write a one paragraph summary. In addition to the summary, name at least two people the speakers mentioned and the reason each person was mentioned, or name two topics in the talk that overlap with topic we have discussed in class.
