Starting now and for the rest of the semester you are to write English for 10 minutes a day (a minimum of four days a week). Start a file in the following required format:

Your journal entries must summarize or discuss what went on in your CS class(es) that day. (Other classes you are required to take as part of your CS degree -- math, etc -- can also be summarized, if you had no CS class that day.) Name the class and the instructor of the class when you write your summary.
At a few points in the semester, I will supply a mandatory prompt that a journal entry (or entries) within a given time range must respond to.
I will check (skim through) the journal a couple of times during the semester (with minimal notice) to make sure that you are doing it, but I will not be reading the contents.
The goal of this assignment is to develop a habit of writing, which will help to record interesting thoughts and clarify your thinking.
