A more complete agenda will be forthcoming in a future GRO Weekly
Report.

FEB 9 PROTEST AGAINST CHANCELLOR REED

Faculty, students and supporters will march and rally when CSU Chancellor
Charles Reed gives the keynote speech to the American Council on Education,
Saturday, Feb. 9, in San Francisco. Faculty from all over the state will
attend to protest Reed's disrespect for faculty and for the quality of our
students' education.

The slogan of the day will be "Stop-the Rip-Offs" of CSU money
being siphoned away from instruction including from faculty
compensation. CFA wants Reed to negotiate fairly to arrive at a
reasonable contract for faculty now and to work with faculty to
ensure the future of the CSU.

The Marriott Hotel where Reed will speak also refuses to bargain
a contract with its workers. Members of the Hotel & Restaurant
Employees Local 2 will rally with faculty calling on both
employers to drop their anti-union behavior and bargain fairly.

Participants will meet at Noon at Yerba Buena Gardens, 701
Mission at 3rd St in San Francisco, for box lunch. Then we will
march to the Marriott Hotel, 55 4th Street at Mission Street for
the rally. Parking is across the street and the site is
accessible by BART and MUNI.

To sign-up for transportation and for more information contact
your CFA chapter or contact the CFA state office, 310-641-4430,
