Title: Solving the Initial
Value Problem for First Order Homogeneous Linear Differential and
Difference Equations by Unification
Abstract: The basic
theory of solving the initial value problem for a homogeneous linear
differential equation and for a homogeneous linear difference equation
will be reviewed. Then the basic theory of dynamic equations on
time scales (a relatively new mathematical theory, first developed in
1988) will be presented and shown that this theory represents a
unifying method for solving both these applications
