Title: Dimensions of Fractal Strings and Multifractal Measures
Abstract: Notions of fractal dimension have been extended from
the study of fractal sets like the Cantor set to the multifractal
spectrum of dimensions associated with objects such as the binomial
measure. The abscissa of convergence of certain zeta functions provides
a theme which connects two definitions of dimension of fractal sets and
a classical notion of multifractal spectrum. In this talk, we will
discuss the technique of developing such zeta functions in order to
study various types of dimension associated with fractal sets and
multifractal measures.
