Title: A Software Journey: From Information Systems
to Space Simulations
Abstract: All software is created to fulfill an
opportunity or need. Successful software projects tend to follow
a core set of basic steps, or phases, during development. Large,
complex, and safety critical systems necessitate formalism and rigor;
while small and experimental systems lend themselves to more agile
methods. This presentation reviews actual processes employed
during development on a variety of software projects – from Information
Systems to Supervisory Control Systems to Space Simulations – and
discusses selected techniques and tools for software verification.
