How To Get Easy Access To World Wide Web Browsers
When Using a Sun Ultra
JUST FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS THAT JULIE GORMAN PUT
TOGETHER:
To make IE5 (Internet Explorer) and Netscape easily available
when you are logged in to one of the Sun consoles do the
following:
NOTE: you'll need to logout and then log back in to have the changes take
effect.
- for IE5
- cd .dt/types
- cp /usr/local/microsoft/ie/IE.dt .
- Internet Explorer is now avaialbe by clicking on the
world icon with the clock.
- To print using Internet Explorer please follow the
instructions for web printing.
- For Netscape
- cd .dt/types
- cp /opt/netscape/netscape.dt .
- then do the following:
- open a file manager window (click on 3rd icon from left)
- in the file manager click and point your way to /opt/netscape
- click on the 4th triangle from the left; this
causes the Applications menu to open
- drag the netscape icon to the install
icon box on the applications menu
- To print using Netscape please follow the instructions
for web printing.
- Those of you who have netscape already installed on your
applications menu will want to cp the netscape.dt file
as it gets rid of the annoying run widow.
