| Assignments for the semester are listed below. Please check back each week to see if a due date has changed, to see if additional information has been added to clarify the assignment, or to see if the requirements of the assignment have changed in any way. Changes will be announced in class as well. |
| WEEK ONE (Feb. 13) ASSIGNMENTS: |

1.) Obtain an email account. Become familiar with its operation (we will cover this in class if you are new to using email.) 2.) Subscribe to the class email alias for your section only before end of class week two:
3.) Lec/Lab - reviewing online class materials: the syllabus, this assignment page, the online class database and using Blackboard. 4.) Take the Challenge Exam on Blackboard while in class. 5.) Read Chapter 0 in the text and complete Chapter 0 quiz.
6.) Important Note: Your classID is CS4000-3. This is not to be confused with your userID which logs you into the campus computers or the online points database. |
| WEEK TWO (Feb. 20) ASSIGNMENTS: |

1.) Create and save a MS Word document as a "Word 97-2003" file type with the name "<your initials - first, middle & last> _attachment", all lower case (e.g., dlb_attachment.doc) and send as an attachment in email to the instructor -- dbratten@charter.net -- with the email Subject: "CS4000-3 Attachment" (no quotes). The content of the Word document will be the text found here. You may copy and paste the text from the webpage into your Word doc..
2.) PowerPoint One - Due by 3pm on day of class Week Four.
3.) Discussion Paper - Due by end of class Week Seven.
4. ) Lab - using email, attachments, and searching the web. 5.) Read Chapter 1 in the text and complete Chapter 1 quiz. |
