Title: Geographic Information Systems (GIS) – Where are
we now?
Abstract:
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are a suite of computer
& digital tools for managing and using spatial data. In this talk I
will review the history of GIS in Geography, and I will provide
examples of how GIS are currently being used for the public and private
sectors to analyze, display, and distribute spatial data. The talk will
conclude with a review of GIS resources available at CSU Stanislaus.
