Creating Web Pages the Easy Way
Due May 2nd
You
will need to create a web page using a Web Page creator. Microsoft Word will work fine. (This is what I use for all of the
class web pages, itÕs fast and easy)
First
you must create a plan for your web site, how is it going to look? What files or web pages are you
going to link to? You must include the following:
*
A link to your Newsletter (lab 5)
*
A link to your Budget (lab 6)
*
A link to your other web page (lab 8)
*
A link to three of your favorite web sites - Links 15 pts
You
will need to create a folder for your web site. All of your files will need to saved
into that folder. It should be
named your lastname.
You
will need to save both your MS Excel and MS Word files as web pages, and save them
into your lastname folder, before you link the pages.
When
creating your web page, include the following:
*
Main page named index.htm or index.html 5pts.
*
Your name in the first row or two, with a link to your e-mail. 5pts.
*
A picture/image, saved as a jpeg.
This can be a picture from a camera, or just a file grabbed from the
Internet. (This will also need to
be in your lastname folder.) The picture will need to be linked to a
web page on the Internet. 5pts.
*
A table that is at least 2 by 3, 5pts.
*
A background color or pattern. At least two different fonts and two different font sizes.
5pts.
This
entire folder will need to be transferred to the Computer ScienceÕs web server.
(splendor.csustan.edu) Remember; make sure there are no spaces in any of your
filenames. Use a FTP program to
transfer your folder. In the Mac
Lab there is a FTP program in the dock and in the Windows Labs there is WS_FTP.
The account we will be using is cs4000-8 the password will be given in
class. The web site you will be FTPÕing to is splendor.csustan.edu or www.cs.csustan.edu You will need to put your folder
into the public_html folder in order to see it on the
internet.
When
you are finished and ready to have your assignment graded, email me at dgomez01@charter.net and state your URL 10 pts.
Have
Fun with it; youÕre now a Web site designer.
